Q: Is the 2007 Toyota tacoma 2WD access cab worth the money?Does anyone own this model?
I live in Texas and the weather here is hot and unpredictable. I was thinking of purchasing a 2007 Toyota Tacoma access cab, 2.7 liter 4cyl engine, 2WD with SR5 package. Is this truck worth buying if I am only using it to travel to work 40-65 miles daily, haul groceries, and moving furniture for relatives. Any advice or suggestions are appreciated. I am planning to make the purchase in December 2007 to take advantage of the year-end sales. I also don't plan on financing through the dealership. Any advise for financing is also appreciated. A: I have that truck same motor with auto trans. It is very comfy not cramped up inside and I am 6 foot 5. I had got 26.8 MPG with only 300 mile on truck with AC on and windows closed at 62 mph. I am very happy with how good the ac work pumps out good cold air fast. It also tows My ATV nicely and has good passing power on freeway. You will enjoy it.
Q: I own a 2007 Toyota Tacoma 2-Wheel Drive and would like to know if adding the Auto LSD system is possible?
Every now and then I drive my truck (2 Wheel Drive) in unpaved, dirt, graveled roads and learned that the Auto LSD (Auto Limited Slip Differential) system will help minimize wheel spinning on slippery or unpaved surfaces. Does anyone know if it would be possible to install/add this option to my Tacoma? My dealership told me that they don't do "add-ons." Any suggestions? Thanks! JM
A: No, it is a factory option. It is a good one too!

And if so, does that make it harder/more expensive to install a command start?
A: yes if the truck has engine immobilizer on it. then it has a chip in the key. if it don't have immobilizer then no chip. you can tell by look at the base of the key up by the rubber part there will be a small dot on one side of the key. if no dot no chip in key. if it does have immobilizer the key need to programmed to the car.

I Just bought a 07 prerunner and want that deep muscle truck sound. The truck is a V6 and heard you cant really get that deep truck sound from the engine. What do you think would be the best system to put on this truck. I dont want that rice burner car sound.
A: I have an 07 Taco with TRD exhaust and it sounds very deep...it's best for resale value too if you decide to sell your truck at some point because TRD is still considered factory. Yeah you may spend more money, but at least you won't sound like a lawnmower driving down the street. I've also heard that Borla makes a good exhaust for this truck.
Q: Can you haul a Motorcycle ( 1300 VTX) in the back of a 2007 toyota tacoma doublecab?
If so what tie downs to use and what type of ramp to get it up there?
A: Use straps with hooks on the ends, connect one to each of the front corners of the bed, then to the handlbars to keep it from moving side-to-side or backwards. Use a third strap and create a triangle by running it halfway through the rear wheel (unless you put spoked wheels on it), then angle them down or back or wherever you can attach to your truck. Your bike weighs more than 700 pounds, so use straps that can handle at least 500.

Just drive at the speed limit or a bit slower and u got a brand new truck, by adding stuff to it you might void the manufacturer's warranty on the vechile , to play it safe read the warranty papers

3. Brake Control System
The brake control system (ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, TRAC, VSC, Auto LSD) is available as optional equipment for the X-Runner.
On the models with the VSC function, the Auto LSD switch has been discontinued, and the VSC OFF switch and the VSC OFF light have been provided.
The VSC/TRAC warning light has been discontinued. As the VSC/TRAC warning light has been
discontinued and the VSC OFF light has been added, the illumination patterns of the respective warning lights and indicator lights during the operation and the malfunction of the brake control system have been changed.
4. Tire Pressure Warning System
The illumination pattern of the tire pressure warning light during the tire pressure warning system
malfunction has been changed
. Combination Meter
The following indicator lights have been newly added or discontinued in the combination meter.
The RSCA (Roll Sensing of Curtain shield Airbag) OFF indicator light has been added for the models with the RSCA.
The VSC/TRAC indicator light has been discontinued
6. SRS Airbag
The RSCA has been newly provided on the models with the curtain shield airbag.
The RSCA OFF switch, which turns OFF the RSCA, is also used.
The passenger airbag manual ON-OFF switch, which was provided for the regular cab type models with the front bench seat, has been discontinued.
7. Audio System
The neodymium speaker is used to reduce the speaker body weight.

and not HUGE tires .just a happy medium tire like a suv tire or alittle bigger
A: I've sold new cars for over 35 years. I've heard your question many times before from many customers. My answer has always been the same ... you are defeating the purpose of a 4 cylinder by putting bigger tires on your truck. Larger tires weigh more, have more mass to turn and are a strain on your 4 cylinder engine. You don't have enough torque to adequately move the truck with larger tires from a dead stop. So the engine whines and winds out a lot more, killing your MPG. A 4 cylinder truck with big tires will get LESS gas mileage than a 6 cylinder with factory tires.
So it comes down to only 2 choices ... big tires or better gas mileage. If you have to have the oversized tires then MPG should not be of concern to your when you buy.
