Q: Toyota tacoma?
I am trying to get a cold air intake for my 1999 2.7 L toyota tacoma. I don't want to spend a lot of money. I found a cold air intake for the 3.4 L V6 for about $70. Would that system fit on my 2.7 four cylinder.
i know that 4 and 6 cylinder have different parts, but the air boxes are in the same location along with the throttle body and the tube for the air intake.
A: No, 4 cyl and 6 cyl are not compatable for parts.
Q: What are the best modifications for a 99 toyota tacoma?
I just bought a '99 Toyota Tacoma with the TRD package. Can anyone tell me what some good modifications are as far as air intakes, headers, etc.? I'm especially looking for people who have already done these modifications and what kind of gains they got from them.
A: I don't have a Tacoma but I had a T-100 and I have a 2001 Tundra that I bought new, Both of these trucks were used to deliver Mail I put the equivalent of 380,000 miles on the T-100 and then I bought the Tundra and I put the equivalent 500,000 miles on it. These are not real mills but are taken from a clock in either case both vehicles were operated for under $1000 for a 4 year period of time each, before them I drove Fords and my cost of keeping them on the road was between $12,000 and $18,000 for a like amount of time only not going as far, more like 340,000 for the four year time frame. It is yours and your choice but if I was you I would keep it just the way it is. I drove 24 new Fords before I bought my first Toyota and now I wouldn't let you park one in my drive way.
Edit note; I wish that Fords were near as good but I am sorry they just aren't, I counted on my truck to earn a living

Im getting a toyota tacoma, and im wanting to put a sound system in it, with good quality sound. Im wondering what type and what size speakers i should get and what amp to go along with it?
A: If you're new to car audio, you probably dont know something that you should. JL Audio makes the best of everything. Speakers, amps, subs, crossovers, EVERYTHING. It all depends on how much you want to spend.
I'd go with some nice 10" subs to go underneath the seats or behind the rear seats. JL w3s are VERY good speakers. You could get a nice $150 alpine deck and a kenwood amp for around $500 total.

Q: How do I get anywhere with a complaint against a Toyota Tacoma rusty frame?
My 2005 Toyota Tacoma with 55k miles has a rusty looking frame. It is not rusted through, just really ugly start for a 3-4 year old truck. I called Toyota and checked for recall with my Vin# and nothing was recalled. They told me to go to a dealer and have them check it out. Any advice on what I can do in adition to this?

A: Underneath the hood of the vehicle, there is a fuse box on the driver's side. Removing the relay (a square plastic removable piece, much larger then a regular fuse) labeled "starter" would disable it from starting until it is reinstalled. They just pull out, and are easily reinstalled.

A: Probably the best time is when they will be switching over to a new model year. Toyota did it somewhat early this year and they came in around late July. The Tacoma is tough, Toyota makes as much as they need you won't see them back up on dealer lots too much, so if you see anything $1000 or more I would take it, probably won't go any higher.
Q: How difficult is it to install A/C in a 95 Toyota Tacoma?
I'm looking at buying a 95 Toyota Tacoma. A/C was an option and the original owner did not have it installed. The bolt are there to install it but how hard would it be. I'm somewhat handy. Is this something a mechanic would have to do or what?
A: Will be cheaper to look for a truck with the AC already installed, even if you may need to have that one's AC fixed.

I have a 2000 Toyota Tacoma 4wd and I would like to try and save $70 bucks if I can do the alignment myself. So far my camber on my driver side right tire is off i know this because of the abnormal tire wear. If I can rent some tools what would I need?
A: I would say it wouldn't be worth the time,and effort ,machines are made for precise degree angles why spend hours of guessing if its going to work and jeopordize your tires wear over time , and just have to pay someone to fix it anyway.Some things are not worth the hassle and better to get it done right the first time.Just because you can go to a store and rent a nail gun and compressor doesn't mean your qualified to build a house.Just my 2 cents.
Q: Is there an aftermarket rear slider window for an 06 Toyota Tacoma? If so how much and where?
I have an 06 toyota tacoma dbl cab, I shatered the rear slider but everything else is intact. The dealership said it I have to by the whole window at $700.00, thats crazy. Is there another way to fix this that doesnt cost so much? Any advice will be helpfull.

I have two pickup trucks in the shop with each having just undregone engine-rebuilds: a 1999 Ford F-150 and a 2000 Toyota Tacoma. Is there someone who can advise as to whether the original factory paint on the frame of each truck should be matt black, satin black or a corrugated texturized or rubberized black? Thank you in advance.
A: I would use POR-15 to paint the frame as it comes in gloss black and a matt black and your frame will never rust with that stuff on it and stone chips will never happen as you can hit it with a hammer and it won't chip or crack and water is perminately sealed out of the metal, it's expensive ($34.) a quart but worth it.
Q: Will a 2006 Toyota Tacoma make a sound when locking the doors with the remote?
I have a 2006 Toyota Tacoma and have heard other make a "beeping" sound when locking the doors with the keyless entry remote. Mine doesn't do this. Is there some way to make it do this? I've also heard other Toyota's make the sound and thought it may be a setting that I could change. Any advice?

Q: what is the clutch start button or driving pattern selector button on a toyota tacoma?
the owners manual discribes the button as clutch start cancel switch(manual transmission) or driving pattern selctor button (automatic transmission) but doesnt offer any further detail and i cannot locate any additional info on line. i have a 2003 toyota tacoma prerunner v6 manaul transmission. and need to know what the function of the button is?
A: there is a clutch safety switch on the clutch itself that requires you to push in the clutch to start the truck. by pushing the clutch start cancel button, you bypass that switch thus, you don't need to push in the clutch to start. drive pattern switch will actually change your shift points slightly to accomodate your driving conditions. by putting it in power mode, you get more torque 'off the line' and in economy mode, you get lower rpm's as on the highway. A: Depends on your state's sales tax - try for $30,000 even out the door because Carmax in Laurel, MD sells loaded Tacomas for $28K and the out the door price would be right under $30K since Carmax does not haggle on price.
