Q: Can you tell me about the high capacity air filter in a 2008 GMC Sierra?
I've been looking for specs and information about performance and whether it's comparable to a K&N or what not. Appreciate any information. Thanks in advance

A: No there not comparable to K&N in performance wise...high capacity means the filter will only last longer beteween changes in other words it holds more dirt before you have to change it and it is not reuseable like K&N

Q: What screw drive do I use to take off air filter housing in 2008 GMC Sierra 4.3L V-6?
It looks like an Allen wrench? It's definitely slotted or phillips drive? The screws have a hexagon shape. I want to change to a K&N filter. Thanks for your help. Thanks - do you happen to know what size it is?

A: the 08 uses torx bits. u can buy them as sockets or screwdriver style

Q: Ticking from 2008 GMC sierra, stops when it is warmed up. Why? ?
I changed my oil in my 2008 GMC Sierra V8 5.3 with Mobile 1. I have since noticed that when I first start my truck I get a ticking noise until it warms up. Oil is full and grade was correct 5W-30.

A: could be a lifter ticking, remember, those are roller lifters. how many miles? probably not carbon buildup. i'm not sure if they still have piston slap concerns with these still. i know the older 6.0 liter models had piston slap. fairly common and not detrimental to the engine. hey, this thing is under warranty!!! wait...how many miles? take it to the dealer!!!

Q: What is better, a 2008 GMC Sierra 3500 or an '08 Ford F-350?
Im confused about which one to get. I want the one with the most power and fuel efficiency.

A: I had to make this decision four years ago and went with the Ford F350. I thought the Power Stoke Diesel was superior to the GM Dura Max and four years later I am certain that I made the right choice. I have a Crew Cab F350 FX4 with all the bells and whistles. The truck has been absolutely reliable and has been used extensively to haul a trailer with a off road race vehicle. It has thousands of miles on rough dirt trails in the Baja and deserts. I consistently get 19-20 MPG on the highway and 17 towing the race car. I did modify the exhaust and air intake system with Banks goodies. I did not go for the power programmer. I for one intend to drive this beast for another decade.

Q: Where is located the air bag passenger rear control module in a 2008 GMC Sierra Denali?

A: There is a Passenger Roof Rail Inflator Module mounted to the roof along the headlining trim panel, right side. If you mean the Inflatable Restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module (the main SIR control module), it is located under the left front seat under the carpet. If I read your question literally, then there is no "air bag passenger rear control module" of any kind. There is a passenger presence module mounted underneath the front right seat if that is what you mean(shoulder shrug on that one bud). There are various sensors located in different positions all over the vehicle, none of which could be called a "control module". Hope this helps :)

Q: 2008 GMC Sierra Denali Programmar?
Does anybody knows if already are PERFORMANCE PROGRAMMERS for the New 2008 GMC SIERRA DENALI? any brand, any thing?

A: you do know this voids warranty if they ever find you installed one

Q: i have a 2008 gmc sierra and i have bench seats but i want to install a floor console like that denalies have?
is this possible and if so please can u give me a link to buy one

A: The only place you will get the parts you want is to go to the dealer unless you can find one that new and the color you want in the salvage yard. May be hard being its new.

Q: About the 2008 GMC Sierra Truck?
I've had my new truck for 2 weeks and my Question is this, when the fuel light (empty) comes on in the 2008 GMC Sierra.....then how much fuel is really left in the tank. I have a 26 gallon tank, the fuel light came on and I filled up.....it only held 21.5 gallons. Is there + 5 or so gallons in the tank when the light comes on or is my fuel gauge not accurate???

A: 3 gallons

Q: I just got a Black 2008 GMC Sierra Z71...What should I add?
Alright, just had my 16 birthday and I got my new truck. I've already got all terrain tires, black toolbox, and linex bed liner. Yes its 4 wheel drive and has a leather interior. I was thinking about getting a black brusher gaurd, but idk. Also people have told me to get pipes... Anyway, I just wanted to hear some ideas/suggestions. Thanks.

A: How about running boards or dual chrome exhaust pipes? Also think about upgrading the stereo system or even a roll bar.

Q: Bigger tires for a 2008 GMC Sierra 3500 4x4?
Can some one tell me what are the biggest tires I can put on without lifting it.

A: I'm not sure about the 3500 but i squeezed 285s under my '07 2500 and then i bought a lift kit when it came out. They rubbed at full turn, but that didnt last long. i trimmed a bit and then managed to squeeze 38's under the truck with a 6inch lift.

Q: 2008 Chevy Avalanche LTZ or 2008 GMC Sierra Denali?
well I Im still trying to decide what car to get, the two candidates this time are an 08 fully loaded chevy avalanche LTZ 4x4 or an 08 fully loaded GMC sierra denali 4x4, wich one do you think is a better choice and why? wich one do you think gets more attention and catches peoples eyes more?

A: Depending if you are driving off road.. The Denali is not 4x4, it's AWD. It is not the same and if you plan to drive off the road, get the Avalanche.... If it's a road queen, go for the Denali. The 6.2 engine is bad @ss. I test drove one when I bought my Duramax and it is quick.

Q: Does anyone know if a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab will offer a backup camera as an options?

A: As of today at this time GMC does not have a rear camera as an option. It may change but it will require the navigation system to get it when it does become available. The Chevy Avalanche does offer it as well as the Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon. It may change at a later date.

Q: I'm wanting to get a Silverado 4x4, 2007 or 2008 model, is there any difference with those and the GMC Sierra?
I know they're both GM vehicles, but is one better than the other? Can I save money by getting one? I currently drive a 2004 Chevy Colorado 2wd, so I'm wanting the bigger truck with 4wd for this coming winter. Just wanted to get some feedback from some people who are wiser than I.

A: There is virtually no difference. They have the same bodies, same engines, and same accessories and options available. The main differences are the badging and some of the options packages. The GMC tends to be a bit more upscale and a bit more expensive. But if you are getting a used truck or even year-end clearance, the prices will be pretty much identical.
