Q: Can anyone answer any questions about truck performance accessories retailers in Houston TX?
I just recently bought a Ford F150 Supercrew and am looking to put a few after market products on it to spice it up, both internally (engine/exhaust) and externally (body). I just don't want to spend my entire paycheck and was wondering if anyone would be familiar with a few places to call or look at?

A: First try e-bay, sometimes you can get new or slightly used aftermarket products. I bought a short ram air intake that looked almost new for about 1/4 the price of new, plus there are lots of magazines where you can order stuff that you could install yourself and save the installation which is what drives the price up of many aftermarket products.

Q: does anyone know the location of the accessory delay relay on a 1997 Ford F150? It is not in my fuse box?

A: oops it's the bottom one closest to the driver door.

Q: Why won't my 2000 Ford F150 start?
The lights and accessories all work and I have pushed the anti-theft reset button. Still I turn the key and absoulutely nothing happens. Any suggestions?

A: did you push in the clutch, or put it in park and put on the brake? new cars all have safety interlocks :) they can go bad, if it's older, try wiggling the gearshift on automatics. it could also be a faulty ignition switch, starter, or solenoid

Q: 1992 Ford F150 - 38.5x15-16 TSL Boggers?
I have a 1992 Ford F-150 Super Cab. It has a 6" Rough Country Suspension Lift and a 3" Performance Accessories Body Lift. For tires, I was planning on running 38.5x15-16 Super Swamper TSL Boggers. Does anyone know if I need wheel spacers due to the width of the tire?

A: the other guy is right about your rims. If you buy wider rims they should already have an offset. But he is wrong about the tire size. You have a total of 9 inches of lift, the 38.5s will fit just fine. I have a bronco with a 6" suspension lift and 3" body lift and I'm running 42s without a problem.

Q: can someone tell me where to get aftermarket projector headlights for 87 thru 91 ford f150?
and other cool accessories i have looked at stylin , jc whitnney , and ebay

A: Ebay has them

Q: how to fix push button igniton and actuator rod for 89 ford f150? someone southern enginered it it?
When I turn my igniton to start my truck it wont, turn it back about half way real slow, and it will feel like it catches something and everything comes on and i can push my start button but has no spring motion, I could turn one way or hit a bump and it would cause all my accessories to go off. I thought it would be the ignition cyclinder, replaced it and it didnt work and still no spring action. Talked to prof. at autozone, he told me ign. harness, and that it was in the steering column, ehh! Wrong! Took my steering wheel off, and Im not sure that the steering lock is the next to take off or what it is thats keeping me from getting to the area where the actuator rod shaft/stem goes directly into the column itself.(The square hole) Mine broke off in there but at the base where it's connected to the u shaped piece. Could I drill a hole or screw in it and pull it out and how would I install new one, and where would I put my 2 ign. wires that connect to the button?

A: The switch itself is located on the lower part of the steering column. Lower the column by removing the two nuts on the steering column bracket. Take the switch off the lower part of the column (2 copper nuts) When the bottom of the rod is free, you should be able to remove it from the lock assembly and slip it out from below. Take the trim collar off (2 phillips head screws underneath and the halves come apart) to allow you to see it. Once you have gone this far, you only need to take the lower bolt out of the steering column to remove the whole thing. There is a plug for the wiring harness, But I think you can put the rod in without going that far. After it's installed, you need to adjust the switch on the column to set the rod to the key switch. Good luck I have seen push button starter switches mounted on the column, under the dash with a large hose clamp, if that's the option to replacing the rod.

Q: Cd player in my truck is a nightmare?
Ok i thought the cd player was defective so i went to best buy to get another one, they couldnt test it so i didnt know if it was the wiring or the deck. I plug this one in and it still doesnt work, so i get the multimeter out and start testing, my ground and hot are good because i put the probes on both and it read 12.3 volts and just to be sure i tested the hot against the frame of my truck, so thats ok. The yellow wire is not reading anything, accessories on or off, and i tried connecting the yellow wire to the hot wire (red) and that still didnt work. I am about to flip out over this because splicing the yellow with the red should make this work. I have a 96 ford f150, my previous cd deck was professionally installed, it has a wiring harness. the fuse is not blown

A: You should have never cut any of the wires!!! Alright try this. Unplug the radio. get a TEST LIGHT and find your constant. Then turn on the ignition and find your power wire. The wire that comes on only when ignition is on. Then match those up to what the stereo diagram says. If you have any problems, email me at jstkknt@yahoo.com, and I will call you and help walk you through it.

Q: Why won't my step dad's truck start?
You see, he turns the ignition key, and the truck doesn't start. All the accessories are apparently working, including the battery. Are there too many possible answers as to why his truck isn't starting? He thought it may be the ignition. By the way, it's a 1992 or so Ford Model F150, six cylinder engine, standard transmission.

A: Need more information. Do you mean it doesn't even turn over, or that it turns over but does not begin running? You need three things for an engine to run. Fuel Spark Compression (which implies air) You get compression from the engine turning over all the parts at the right time. If the engine doesn't turn over, or the crank and camshafts are not in sync, or it is just completely worn out, you will not have proper compression for combustion. You get fuel from the fuel injectors or the carburator. You get spark from the ignition system. Let us know exactly what you mean by won't start and we can begin to narrow down your answer.

Q: Used car/truck trade in?
My wife and I are about to begin to look for a new minivan, trading in our trusty '98 Chevrolet Venture for something else, but definately a new minivan. I am not expecting much for our trade in Venture, as it has 108K on it. Here is my big question - I also have a piece of junk 1977 ford F150 pick-up truck. Inspected, but in fair condition. Solid truck for stone, wood hauling, and junk moving. Has primer on many places, but no rust holes (anymore). I know it is an old truck, I know I could get more to sell outright private (I would only like $500), but can I trade it in along with the Venture to the new car dealer, even if only for $500 off the new van or money off accessories? I know both would go to auction anyway, maybe the truck would be sucked up by a mechanic there. At least that way, I would not have the hassle of trying to sell, waiting for someone to come to the house, etc...

A: You could really push to trade both of them and maybe get $300 for the old truck and $800 for the newer one. Yes they will buy both cars off of you, but you really need to push them so they will bargain you because they will give you a horrible price to start. You could also bargain down the price of the new car if you traded in both. When I tried to trade my 2003 eclipse in they tried to only give me $5500 which I paid 12,000 for the year before. Well I acted like I was leaving and not buying the car and it took a while but they raised the trade to 9,000 off the new car. They also added some features on my new car to seal the deal. So dont accept any offer you think is crazy and just keep working them. Good Luck!

Q: 1992 Ford F150 - 38.5x15-16 TSL Boggers?

A: no you don't need wheel spacers but when you buy your rims get the right offset, get the wheels to stick out as much as possible, and just use fender flares, then your tires will not rub the suspension.
