Q: How can I reset the keyless entry on a 2004 04 Ford F150?
I purchased a 2004 Ford F150 that had previousley been a repo. I didn't get the key fobs with the truck so I purchased them off of the internet. They worked fine except that the truck also has an aftermarket keypad on the drivers door. When I programmed the new key fobs the keypad stopped working. The owners manual says that only 4 keyless entry items can be programmed into the computer. I figured that the truck originally had 2 key fobs (that I do not have) programmed in and I programmed 2 more. Leaving the keypad as the 5th. Is there any way to reset the computer so that I can reprogram the 2 key fobs and the keypad?
A: U need to take it to the ford dealer they need to hook it up to ther computer. As of programing the fobs the old ones that u dont have will not work u allready rest the pats system in the truck for your fobs whene u programed them. The door pad is why you need to take it to the dealer.

Q: How many years will a bank let you take out a loan for on a 2004 Ford F150 4x4 ext cab?
The truck has 50k miles on it and is in excellent shape.Do banks gives out 6 year loans now?I have only ever had 5 year loans. If yes,how old can a vehicle be before they wont let you have 6 years to pay it back? Thanks.
A: It depends on the bank and their policies. If you are eligible to join a credit union, you should check with them. If you are not eligible through your employer, there are a lot of community credit unions now, and you can often get better financing terms and rates through a credit union. I looked in the N.A.D.A guide and the truck is worth between $17,425 - $21,125, depending on which model. There is also a slight deduction for high mileage, but not too severe. Yes, banks and credit unions do have 72 month terms on auto loans these days.
Q: What size differential is in the rear of a 2004 Ford F150 Lariat 4x4??

A: there is a ID plate on the differential that will tell you what size it is and everything else you want to know about the diff.
Q: How often should I change the transmission fluid in my 2004 Ford F150?
A: Three years or 30k miles, find a owners manual and check that. most people wait 100k and then wonder why the trans is not working. So you are doing a good thing.
I have seen transmissions last 200k with no service and keep on going. but maintenance is a very good idea.
Q: How do you remove the front door panel (driver side) from a 2004 Ford F150?
The power window does not come up and makes a slight grinding noise. Does any one know what part may be defective?
A: without seeing it I would have to say the slide arm. So, yes, you will have to remove the door panel much like any other door panel. Remove screws etc. then carefully pull away using a tool or screw driver.
Q: How far can I drive with my gas light on in my 2004 Ford F150 It's a V8?
A: You should have about 2 to 2 1/2 gals. gas left when the light comes on.... so how many miles per gal. do you get? I would say you are not going to drive far.
Q: 2004 Ford f150 brakes?
I have a 2004 ford f150 and installed new brakes but the still squeak. do anyone know what it could be. i also installed new brake clips.
A: The first thing I would ask a customer is; did you install original equipment pads. if not you might have bought the problem, the next question is did you have a pulsation problem before you replaced the pads, if you did, you may be able to get them repaired if the truck is still under the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty. There is a technical service bullitin for rotor and caliper replacement for qualifying f-150 truck. This repair is only covered under base warranty and extended service contracts are not eligable. Other than that, the only thing left is to make sure the correct brake pad shims are installed, OEM pads have never given me any problems.

2004 Ford F-150 XLT 5.4 Triton

Q: 2004 Ford f150 heritage has weird shifts, after i realized i have overfilled the trans fluid, could this be?
A: Definately, i've had it happen.
Q: my 2004 ford f150 starts vibrating at 40 to 50 mph. any ideas?
it doesn't do it all the time but when it does its pretty violent. the truck only has 27000 miles on it.
A: Sounds like a seperated tire, or the wheels are off-balance. Take it to a tire shop and have them inspect it, worse case scenario if the tire's seperated, you'll have to get a new tire that matches the others, because in a 4-wheel drive vehicle you have to have matching tires so it doesn't mess up the 4x4. Really sounds like the wheels are off-balance though, won't cost you much at all if anything.
Q: Ford F150,2004. How to srart it with a regular key, with out the chip. I do not want pay 115$ to the dealer.?
A: You may be able to use the key to unlock the wheel.
But the ignition switch is down on the steering colum . A box about a half inch tall. 3 inches long.
The key connects to it buy a rod you will see.
You can take the box off and move the switch with a screwdriver.
If that dose not work I would get a book at auto zone and find out what wires need to be jumped to buy pass the key switch.
Thats what the E key dose any way it connects the loop in the wires some way.
I know I would buy pass that crap any way. Just for this reason
$115 for a key ..........................B.S.
Q: I've been looking into buying a 2004 Ford F150 lightning.?
Every truck that I've seen for sale is $2000 to $4000 over Kelly Blue Book. Why is that? Is it because the Lightning is no longer in production?
A: It's probably beginning to be a sought-after vehicle, where demand outstrips availability. That'll push the price that people are willing to pay way up.
